About Duck Pond Adventures
SW FL Children's Book Author In her day job, Melissa works as a division director for a children’s hospital in SW FL. She loves spending time with her husband, four children, and two grandchildren. As a creative outlet, Melissa writes children’s books as a hobby. Becoming a Jeep Wrangler owner for the first time in 2023, she was introduced to the concept of “ducking.” This is when a stranger leaves a rubber duck on a Jeep’s door handle. This always brings a smile to her face. On her way to work one morning, her ducks were not exactly how she left them the night before. This led her to begin a creative series about the ducks that live on the duckpond (dash) of the Jeep Wranglers. The ducks come alive and have their own adventures in the absence of the humans.

Her oldest son is a Marine currently stationed in Hawaii with his lovely wife and soon to be 3rd grandchild (granddaughter). The main character is based on him.
